IGIC 2019: Digitalisation in Medicine
Our MEMoRIAL Research Fellows Negar Chabi (M1.6), Hana Haseljic (M1.1b), Fatima Saad (M1.11), Chompunuch Sarasaen (M1.7), Mario Breitkopf (M1.2), Philipp Ernst (M1.10), Thomas Gerlach (M1.9) and Daniel Punzet (M1.5) just returned from the 4th Conference on Image-Guided Interventions (IGIC), which took place in Mannheim/Germany from Nov-04 to Nov-05, 2019.
The IGIC 2019 was organised by the cooperating research campi STIMULATE – Solution Centre for Image Guided Local Therapies and M²OLIE – Mannheim Molecular Intervention Environment and in particular addressed
- (1) Multi-dimensional Data Acquisition and Analysis,
- (2) New Techniques for clinical Image-guided Interventions,
- (3) Intelligent Systems in the Intervention Room,
- (4) Digital Lab: ePathology and molecular Diagnostics,
- (5) Data analytics and Artificial Intelligence.
By presenting their latest research results by talks and posters, our fellows made use of the great opportunity to contribute to the this year’s conference focus on “Digitalisation in Medicine” and to discuss their findings, exchange experiences and network with their national and international colleagues in the fields of medical engineering, imaging and data processing. Moreover, the large number of conference members from the scientific community but also industry allowed for interdisciplinary exchanges between developers and users.
